Privacy

You can read this site without an account, and it shows no ads. This page says what is collected while you read it.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to learn which pages people read, how they found them, how far they scroll and which outside links they follow. Google receives the page address, the referring page, your browser and device type, and your IP address, from which it estimates your location. Google says Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses.

Most visitors get two first-party cookies, _ga, which tells returning browsers apart, and _ga_*, which keeps track of the session. Each lasts up to 2 years.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland these cookies are never set, and we don't ask you for consent. Google works out your region from your IP address. It still receives each page view, as a cookieless ping whose random ID is kept only in the open page and isn't stored on your device.

None of this is used for advertising. Advertising signals are denied everywhere, Google signals are off, and the property isn't linked to Google Ads. Google keeps event and user data for 14 months.

To opt out, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, and the tag doesn't load at all, or install Google's opt-out add-on. Google explains how it uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare serves this site and handles your IP address to deliver its pages and images. It also runs Cloudflare Web Analytics here, which counts page views and measures load times without setting a cookie. Cloudflare says it doesn't collect or use visitors' personal data for this.

Sending results

If you send a measurement with mtr submit, your GitHub login is published with it, as How we verify explains. Reading the site involves nothing like this.
